Hello Fly Fishing Friends!

BroadbandMT’s Annual Meeting is right around the corner, and we’re beyond excited to welcome you to beautiful Missoula this year!

We’ve got something special lined up for our traditional Fly Fishing event on Monday, August 18, 2025 — a guided float trip on the Clark Fork River, led by none other than Missoula Fly Guy and his expert team of guides.

This will be a premium fly fishing experience with only 18 spots available, so make sure to reserve yours early. The cost is $400 per person, and each participant will be paired with another attendee to share a raft and a dedicated guide. Whether you’re a seasoned caster or totally new to the sport, you’ll get personalized 1:1 instruction throughout the float.

If you have someone in mind you'd like to pair with, let us know—we’ll do our best to accommodate, though no promises. Telco attendees will be given priority if interest exceeds capacity.

What's Included:

  • Lunch, hat, snacks, cigars, and beverages provided by the association.

  • Rods, flies, and gear provided by Missoula Fly Guy.

  • An unforgettable experience on one of Montana’s most scenic rivers.

What You’ll Need to Bring:

  • Polarized sunglasses – A must-have for spotting fish in the glare.

  • Sturdy water shoes – Covered toes are highly recommended; old sneakers work great!

  • Comfortable, water-friendly clothing – Quick-dry preferred, but not required. You might get wet, especially if you take a dip—intentional or not.

  • Sunscreen

  • Rod & reel if you’re bringing your own—otherwise, you’re covered!

  • Fishing license – Please click here to purchase ahead of time.

Extras:

We’ll be supplying the essentials—fish whistles (a.k.a. cigars) and our exclusive BroadbandMT fishing hats, guaranteed to make you the envy of the river. Snacks, beer, soda, and water will be packed into coolers on each raft. Have a beer preference? Feel free to bring your own! This is Missoula, after all—home to a thriving microbrew scene.

Transportation:

We may need a few volunteers to help shuttle folks to and from the various launch points along the river. Each group will depart from a different section, so we appreciate the help!

Calling All Sponsors:

We’re also seeking sponsors to support this event and help raise donations for the Rural Education Fund.  More details posted soon!

Stay tuned for more info on launch locations and meeting times as the date gets closer.
