About BroadbandMT

Founded in 1955 as the Montana Telephone Association, and later known as the Montana Telecommunications Association, BroadbandMT has evolved alongside the industry to support Montana’s locally owned, community-based broadband providers. Now based in Helena, BroadbandMT delivers advocacy, education, and industry collaboration that strengthens connectivity across the state.

Our member companies provide advanced telecommunications services to businesses, governments, and residents throughout Montana. Together, they employ more than 1,000 Montanans and invest over $100 million annually to expand and maintain critical infrastructure. With tens of thousands of miles of fiber deployed, and growing, our members are bringing reliable, high-speed internet to even the most rural areas.

Despite the challenges of distance, cost, and low population density, BroadbandMT members serve nearly all anchor institutions with fiber and continue building future-ready networks. By investing in advanced technology today, they are connecting rural Montana to tomorrow.
